We had great fun in 1st Class last week learning about magnets. After a bit of experimenting we discovered that a magnet has a North and a South pole. We also discovered that the same poles repel each other and opposite poles attract each other. We could actually feel the magnet push apart as they repelled each other!
We experimented with different things in the classroom to discover what items a magnet was attracted too.
We also had great fun taking a paperclip for a walk around a maze without letting the magnet and paperclip touch. Some of us even managed to do it through the table using a really strong magnet!
